Repair PDF

Repair PDF parses broken files in lenient mode, skipping unreadable objects instead of aborting, and re-saves whatever could be recovered into a fresh file. Honest scope: it salvages the parts that are still parseable; it cannot resurrect content that is missing from the file.

FAQ

What kinds of damage can this fix?

Typical cases: a truncated download, a broken cross-reference table, or corrupted objects mixed with healthy ones. Salvage mode skips the broken parts and keeps the rest. If the parser cannot find any valid objects, the tool says so instead of pretending success.

Will the repaired PDF be identical to the original?

Not necessarily. Damaged objects are dropped, and the file is rebuilt, so interactive features like forms, annotations or bookmarks may be lost even when page content survives. That is why the tool reports object counts before and after.

Can it remove a password or repair an encrypted file?

No. Encrypted files fail differently; use the unlock tool first if you have the password, then repair the decrypted copy.
