FAQ
Are images and complex formatting kept?
No, and the tool says so instead of guessing. Images are skipped and counted, and the layout is rebuilt as a single column of text, so a designed brochure will not look like the original. For a pixel-faithful export, use Word or LibreOffice on the desktop.
Why can some characters become question marks?
The built-in PDF fonts cover Western European scripts. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Cyrillic, Greek and other scripts are beyond that set, so affected characters are replaced with a question mark and the count is reported. Nothing fails silently.
Does it work with the old .doc format?
No, only .docx (the Office 2007+ format). For legacy .doc files, re-save them as .docx in Word or LibreOffice first, then convert here.
